Question: did you ever fly the first aircraft that you created and did you create the first aircraft.
Asked by johncl to Sir Geoffrey de Havilland on 4 Dec 2018.
Sir Geoffrey de Havilland
answered on 4 Dec 2018:
I can’t claim to have created the first ever aircraft, that would be the Wright brothers.
However they inspired me to build my own aircraft, which I built with money from my Grandfather.
It took me two years to build and then I accidentally crashed it during it’s first very short flight near Litchfield, Hampshire.
If you could help anyone or any organization what or who would it be? (2 Comments)
